Give The Gift of Travel This Holiday Season

Illustraton About Giving The Gift Of Travel During A Holiday SeasonGiving the gift of travel is an amazing idea for families this Christmas!  Lets look at the facts.  If you’re anything like me, your kids have everything they need and most things they want.  Kids are spoiled today.  And, nobody needs more toys.  Books are a great idea.  I create vacation storybooks from our vacation photos and order one for each of our kids after we go.  It’s a great memory and a way to remember.

MEMORIES LAST LONGER THAN STUFF

First and foremost, the experience your family will have on vacation will last way longer than any thing you might buy. If you try and think back on every toy you were given on Christmas when you were a kid, can you remember each one?

But what about your family vacations? If you’re anything like me, my family vacation memories are some of my favorite memories.

NO EXTRA CLUTTER!

If you’re like me, you have too much stuff in your house.  My husband regularly walks through the house when nobody is looking and throws random things in the trash.  No toys = No more clutter!

YOU COULD ACTUALLY SAVE MONEY

This is hard to imagine, but just think how much a regular Christmas costs… it goes way beyond a few presents per kid! On average, parents spend $300-400 on each kid for presents, that’s about the price of their share of a vacation, so why not put that towards a trip instead?

Grandmas a problem too?  Tell them they can get travel gifts; luggage, luggage tags, new swimwear, sunglasses, maps, water bottles, sandals, etc.  Or a gift card can work towards your vacation!  You can always use it for another fun excursion to go swimming with the dolphins or ATV riding.

Did you know that if you’re willing to travel ON the holidays you can get flights DEEPLY discounted?

Check out Pinterest for fun travel gift basket ideas for your family!  Then everyone has something under the tree and they start getting excited about their trip.

YOU’LL ENJOY IT JUST AS MUCH AS THE KIDS

I know, that sounds selfish, but really – you could spend your money on something that the WHOLE FAMILY will enjoy, vs something that the kids will enjoy for a while and you will pick up often.  Everyone deserves a getaway they’ll love, quality time and a little R&R.

FLEXIBLE PAYMENT OPTIONS

Paying for something on a plan isn’t something that I regularly suggest doing, but if you can budget properly you can pay off your holiday over a few months BEFORE you go, rather than having the excitement first and THEN 3 months of bills (which is what often happens at Christmas  + that really puts a damper on the new year). This way you can approach the Christmas season WITHOUT the threat of debt!

Here’s how it works:

You can put down a deposit to book your amazing trip.  Then you can make payments until about 60-75 days before you leave.  It’s so simple and you don’t have to worry about the interest on your credit card.

SQUIRREL RIDGE TRAVEL WILL GIVE YOU A GREAT VALUE

When you book your vacation with Squirrel Ridge Travel, you have the confidence of booking a great trip with great service. If you do find your vacation cheaper somewhere else, they will match the price. You can book with confidence knowing that you are taken care of from your time of booking until you’re back home.

TRAVEL IS CRAZY EDUCATIONAL FOR KIDS

There is so much about the world that just can’t be learned without experiencing it.  My kids learn so much when we travel.  New languages, new cultures, new experiences.  Not only do we have fun, we learn.  Dalton learned all his colors in Spanish at the kids club at our resort in Mexico!

FAMILY BONDING

The time that you will spend together as a family is priceless.  Really.  We are all under stress at home.  A getaway where you can focus on each other and making memories is exactly what every American family needs these days

When you give the give a vacation as a Christmas gift, you give your family a Christmas to remember!
