I’m always on the lookout for a great family vacation. Having two active boys, I know what kids love. Walt Disney World is far from the top of their list! Here are a few great ideas for your family vacation.
- The Netherlands
- Black Hills
- Yellowstone National Park
- The Grand Canyon National Park
- Las Vegas
- The US West Coast
Family vacations can be stressful if not planned properly. You’re looking for relaxation, seeing new things together, great food, a spacious place to stay and relax, easy to find places to see, experience and eat…..it’s not an easy list of wants for any old vacation.
Iceland offers some great things. First off, you land at the airport in Keflavik and the largest city is quite a drive to Reykjavik. If you can’t pronounce these, give me a call or ask Siri. And, don’t miss the Geysir in Reykjavik or the Blue Lagoon.
The Netherlands have tons of art history, cultural history and great sights and archetecture. You son’t lack for something new to see or experience. The food is delish. The sights are amazing. The weather is fairly mild.
Nicaragua is a great up and coming destination. The safety and security of this country has grown leaps and bounds each year for the last decade or two. They’re an up and coming nation, developing quickly. Managua is beautiful and there are a lot of ways to help out in missions if that’s your thing.
Ireland is full of cultural and archetectural history.
Las Vegas, although many people only think of it as Sin City, can be a great place to travel to for a family getaway. Helicopter and jeep tours of the Grand Canyon and Hoover dam would be on the top pof my list. Some people love going to Henderson to see the stars of the hit show Pawn Stars. There’s gambling, prositution, drugs…..everything every small child should see.
Our nation’s national parks are some of the best in the world. Yellowstone is no different and probably one of the best we have to offer.
Scenic drives along Highway 1 have some of the best scenery here in the US. If you haven’t done this, put it on the top of your bucket list. I love California, Washington and Oregon and you will too. San Diego to Seattle offers amazing fun, sunshine and endless coastline.
